First and foremost I would like to wish you and your family a Happy and safe 4th of July. It is a time to reflect and give thanks to all the brave men and women who have served and are serving this great country! Who have in some cases give the ultimate sacrifice so that we as a nation can continue to prosper, lead, and enjoy the great privileges and freedoms that we have.

As a result of our forefathers efforts in designing and building our democracy we have the privilege of choice. We get to choose where we want to live, how we want to live, where we go to work, the kind of work we want to do or not do. We have the choice and freedom to do an enormous amount of things in this country. Very few if any other country can claim to have the same choices or freedoms that we get to enjoy.

We very often take the privileges for grant it. Which is not hard to do because once you become accustomed to something on a continuous basis you then become numb to its existence. You know and expect that it will always be there. So as we get ready this morning to prepare for our parades, BBQ’s, swimming, adult beverages , and our usual 4th traditions please keep in mind all those folks that have come before us and are currently serving us in protecting these great choices and freedoms we enjoy! These privileges and freedoms are not guaranteed and can be easily lost if we become numb to their existence.

This is you’re Independence Day and although we recognize and celebrate it today we enjoy it’s meaning another 364 days a year!
